Ana and I plan on heading to Europe in the somewhat near future. Until that time, we will use this blog to start gathering useful information to help us plan. Once we cross the ocean and step foot on a new continent, we'll use this blog to chronicle everything that follows. This is also intended to be an interactive blog - any suggestions you think may help are welcome..

We stayed here in Bath.

Our room was huge and had a big plate-glass window that showed a mountainous view. It was very nice although it's a ways from town.

Joy and love to you both.

Durham is not too far from Newcastle. It has a great cathedral and riverwalk.

In between Durham and Newcastle is a small town named Ferryhill. It has a small, converted monastery call The Manor House. I've stayed there five or six times and liked it. It has a good pub and everyone goes there - or used to.

The owners have changed since I was there in the early '90s.

If you go to Ferryhill, let me know and I'll see if a woman I knew is still there. She was a bartender at the time - a sweet woman. Pam something. I may still have her number.
