Ana and I plan on heading to Europe in the somewhat near future. Until that time, we will use this blog to start gathering useful information to help us plan. Our room was huge and had a big plate-glass window that showed a mountainous view. It was very nice although it's a ways from town.

Durham is not too far from Newcastle. It has a great cathedral and riverwalk.
In between Durham and Newcastle is a small town named Ferryhill. It has a small, converted monastery call The Manor House. I've stayed there five or six times and liked it. It has a good pub and everyone goes there - or used to.
The owners have changed since I was there in the early '90s.
